Stocks fell after crude oil closed at historic highs at $64.90. The session began with stocks extending their rally from yesterday but fell later in the day. Intraday, the Dow made a 5-month high. Techs gave back much of their August gains.
After the bell, News Corp (NWS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) beat by 0.05. CV Theraputics (CVTX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) said Regadenoson met its primary endpoint its Phase 3 trial.
The EIA reported a 2.6 million barrel build in crude, a 2.1 million barrel build in gasoline and a 2.6 million barrel build in distillates--all more than expected.
On CNBC, Boone Pickens predicted $75 oil within a year.
Here are some stocks to watch for Thursday:

Baidu.com (BIDU | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is still pulling back--three days now. Note the daily range is getting smaller and the volume is drying up on the pullback. I think some time this week--maybe even Thursday--this stock might trigger a good swing trade long.

CV Theraputics (CVTX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) reported some good news after the bell (see above). This stock is also trading near the important 50-day moving average and could bounce.

Just a follow up on Aetna (AET | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), from Tuesday's article. The stock triggered and is now up 1.20 from when it was first mentioned.

Time Warner (TWX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is looking tired here and may pull back.

Viacom (VIA.B | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) looks tired, too.

Gen-Probe (GPRO | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) reported some good news on one of its drugs. This stock looks as if it will resume its uptrend after filling the recent gap.

Montana Dakota Utilities (MDU | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) said the passage of the highway bill would be good for the company. We'll see what the market says about that.
