Stocks Settle Into Trading Range; Costco, Newmont Mining Gain 3%: 7 Stocks You Need to Know for Friday

Most equity indexes finished the day in neutral territory, with profit-taking helping alleviate some of the more overbought conditions in some markets. Among the biggest gainers heading into Friday’s session are stocks like Bed, Bath & Beyond (more on BBBY below) and  ^STZ^, which gained nearly 7%.

Here are 7 Stocks You Need to Know for Friday.

The best performing stock in the S&P 500 heading into trading on Friday was ^BBBY^. Shares of BBBY rallied by more than 10% to close at a new high for 2011.

Shares of ^COST^ have closed higher for three days in a row, with all three closes in overbought territory above the 200-day moving average.

It appears as if the selling is not quite done in select semiconductor stocks. Pulling back by more than 4% on Thursday were shares of ^KLAC^ (below).

Shares of KLAC have closed lower for five out of the past six trading days.

A number of top Japanese stocks continued to struggle under significant selling pressure. Down again ahead of trading on Friday are stocks like ^TM^ and  ^HMC^.

Down three trading days in a row heading into Friday’s open are shares of ^NFLX^ (below).

NFLX’s three consecutive lower closes have put the stock in oversold territory above the 200-day. NFLX was last in oversold territory a month ago in March.

 ^SBUX^ (below) is back in oversold territory above the 200-day moving average after a pullback of more than 1% on Thursday.

Shares of SBUX have closed lower for four trading days in a row. In fact, the stock has ended the day lower for eight of the past ten sessions.
