TradingMarkets 7 Stocks You Need to Know for Thursday: V, COP, AMZN, NVDA, SNI, HMC, KKD

The stock market was quick out of the gate Wednesday morning and buyers kept stocks aloft into the close. Among the session’s biggest gainers were a diverse set of stocks from ^SHLD^ to ^T^, which closed higher for a sixth straight session going into Thursday’s market.

Sellers were most aggressive in the market for shares of homebuilding stocks. ^LEN^ was the big leader to the downside, pulling back by more than 4%. But ^PHM^,  ^CBG^ and ^DRI^ were all moving lower ahead of trading on Thursday.

Here are 7 Stocks You Need to Know for Thursday.

Up well over 2% and closing above its 200-day moving average for the first time in more than two weeks were shares of ^V^.

While there was some profit-taking in oil stocks such as ^NOV^, which pulled back by more than 2%, other oil stocks were advancing, such as ^COP^ (below).

Shares of COP rallied to a new short term high after a two-day pullback in the first half of the week.

Also gaining ahead of trading on Thursday were shares of Amazon.com ^AMZN^. The stock is up just two days in a row, but its gain of well over 2% puts the stock back in overbought territory above the 200-day moving average.

Shares of ^NVDA^ (below) have closed lower for three out of the past four trading days.

NVDA pulled back by well over 3% on Thursday, but remains outside of oversold territory.

Up nearly 2% after a three-day pullback took the stock into oversold territory above the 200-day, shares of SNI have rallied into strength above their 5-day moving average.

^HMC^ (below) closed higher for a third day in a row on Thursday.

Up nearly 2% on the day, HMC continues to follow-through to the upside after a sharp four-day pullback put the stock at oversold levels above the 200-day.

Reporting quarterly earnings Thursday after the market closes is ^KKD^. Shares of KKD gained well over 1% in trading on Wednesday, closing higher for a fifth day in a row. The last four closes in KKD have been in overbought territory above the 200-day moving average.
