Tuesday’s Top Stocks

Monday’s trade confirmed the ability of the market to fall even further on
its own weight.
A price gap inspired by overseas markets and escalating geopolitical
tensions were the impetus needed for testing of daily supports in both the S&P500
and the Nasdaq Composite. On the day both finished in the red, between 1.06%
to 1.44% respectively–on further light, well-below average trade. Hmm, this
raises yet another interesting question. If everyone is now placing so much
‘weight’ on the all-important 200-Day MAs in the S&P500, do you think it
stands a chance against light volume selling?

Personally, I think that the S&P500 will follow the Nasdaq Composite’s lead,
and put in a lower price pivot before the possibility of a move thru last week’s
highs. However, at this juncture I’m neither bullish or bearish–I’m just plain
ol’ cautious within the market’s intermediate-term downtrend. Stocks are
increasingly moving around on their accord, or should I say, the Specialists and
Market Makers agendas? Sometimes it does feel that way, especially when volume
is trading at extremely light levels of investor participation. Brad Pitt had
his Achilles Heel–mine just might be anemic volume. Oh well, all that we can do
ahead of time is prepare for the next day’s battle by continuing to enter the
fray with our favorite weapons of choice–namely disciplined, consistent
daytrading, and then hopefully returning home with the spoils of an ongoing war.
