Here’s two great stories to watch unfold at the Olympics:
US Olympic fast pitch softball coach Mike Candrea lost his wife of 28
years last month. She died suddenly of a brain aneurysm while traveling with the
team. She was not only his companion, she was a second mother to the players on
the Olympic team. Candrea, along with his two daughters, made the decision to go
to Athens to fulfill their family’s and our county’s goal of winning a gold
medal. Talk about dedication and commitment.
Two weeks ago, Australian 400-meter runner
Jana Pittman was favored to win the gold medal. A few days later she tore
cartilage in her knee. Last week she had emergency surgery in London.
Incredibly, she still plans on competing — in spite of the fact that she
couldn’t walk 72 hours ago!
Heading into Friday, the TRIN hit 3.0 four of the
previous seven days. This type of behavior has rarely been seen and has only
occurred well into a bear market stage. Possibly a sign that a short-term bottom
is near? (the power of positive thinking!)
