Dow Targets 14,000 Once Again
The major indices are trading higher this morning after several
upbeat earnings reports came out. The Dow has made up for
yesterday’s drop and is once again targeting a close above the
historic 14,000 level.
Crude oil futures for August delivery rose 1.4%
to $75.05 a barrel after the weekly Energy Department report
showed a decrease in crude oil inventories. Gold futures for
August delivery rose 1.2% to $673.70 an ounce.
Around Asia, the Shanghai Composite index fell 0.4% to 3,912.94,
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 0.8% to 23,016.20, and Tokyo’s Nikkei
added 0.6% to 18,116.57.
