Friday’s Top Names
Better-than-anticipated Retail
numbers
out this morning gave the markets a kick-start on
the opening bell. Unfortunately, consumer spending didn’t translate into
institutional buying in the markets as the
ETFs finished the session mixed.
The DIAs finished down about .4%, while the SPYs were essentially
flat and the QQQs mustered a minimal gain on the day. Once again (is it
Christmas already?) volume was very light on a day marked by volatility
contraction in the underlying indices. With that said, we’ll keep our powder
dry, and prepare ourselves for tomorrow.
