2002 and 2003. The semis shook off the news, but ended lower to close right at
the 50-day moving average. The three broader indices rallied again today with
broad-based buying interest and a stronger dollar. The Dow topped above 9,000 for the first time since July of this year.
The stronger sectors on the day were: Wireless,
Utilities, Advertising, Aluminum, Paper, Bank, HMO, Biotech, Homebuilding, Oil
Drilling, Drug, Gold, Software, Telephone Equipment and Airlines.
The weaker sectors today included: Apparel,
Tobacco and Steel
