Here Are Thursday’s Names

The markets ended mixed
for the session after the GDP was less than expected. In addition the news that
the Federal government was going to stop the sale of the 30-year Treasury Bond caused bond prices to soar.

The Nasdaq Composite
closed higher 1.37% on higher volume, which is a good sign, especially with the
index closing above its 50-day moving average. We should note, with the plethora
of economic reports due out toward the end of the week, it is still a wait and
see status.

Remember that all securities are
risky. In any trade, you should always reduce your risk by adjusting position
size and placing open protective stops
where you will sell your long or
cover your short in case the market turns against you. For an introduction to
combining price stops with position sizing, see our lesson, Risky
Business.
