Here’s The Good News About Next Week
The alarm sounds.
Can’t be morning already, can it? You stumble into the kitchen, put the
coffee on and fire up the ‘puter. Time for a quick wake-up shower. “Wonder what
today will bring?” you ask yourself.
You throw on some pants and a shirt. No shoes,
though. Don’t really need ’em. The fresh coffee is smelling good as you walk
into the kitchen and pour yourself a cup. Do I have time to run over and get a
box of Krispy Kreme’s? No, not really. And besides, the old spare tire isn’t
getting any smaller. OK, on to the computer to see what the trading buzz is for
the morning.
Looking out the window, you see your neighbor
pulling out of his driveway, off to work. “Sure glad I don’t have to do that
anymore,” you think to yourself.
It’s not like you don’t have a job. You
do. You’re a trader. It’s just not the same kind of job most other people have.
Back to the computer…
Upgrades. Downgrades. Earnings better than
expected, earnings worse than expected. The things that used to mystify you, now
don’t. Most things, at least. You’re able to sift through most of the garbage and get to the really
important stuff pretty fast these days.
Yesterday was a decent day. The day before
wasn’t so hot. That’s the way it goes, though. It used to be most days were calamities.
Thank God that’s over. Today’s a new day.
Ding ding ding ding ding…
…to be continued…
Random Thoughts
The Olympics are over and the RNC begins.
What does that mean to you? Well if this week was any indication, it may mean
going from watching volleyball players wearing hardly any clothes to protesters
wearing no clothes at all! Seriously, though, next week may be slow, as many
traders in New York are taking the week off. The good news is that September is
just around the corner, and with it, more than likely, a return to more decent
trading.
Dave Landry returns from vacation on Monday. Let’s find out what happened
on that canoe trip, shall we?
Don Miller is starting a new audio
commentary MWF. I think you’ll like it. Speaking of Don…
