How High Gold?

Crude oil continues to top the news, with January crude up again, closing at
30.44. Same stories driving the price: labor strike in Venezuela and impending
war. January heating oil was also up, to 85.53, as was January natural gas, to
5.278.

March gold was up again, to 342.70, again on war fears.

Taiwan has been a big buyer of corn and soybeans. March corn closed at 240,
while beans closed at 555 1/2. Tomorrow is weekly export sales numbers from the
Dept. of Agriculture.

The dollar bounced off its lows, at 104.10.

Noranda’s CEO said that he expects copper to reach 75 cents in 2003 and 90
cents longer term. March copper closed at 72.45, down .75.
