Hurricane Emily: Will The Gulf Platforms Get Hit?
The PPI for June was unchanged less than expected; ex-food/energy it fell -0.1%.
The Empire State Index was 23.91 vs a consensus of 10. The University of
Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index for July was 96.5 vs 96.0 in June.
Crude rallied on Hurricane Emily concerns; radar
reports show it on track near production platforms in Texas. Emily was
downgraded from a category 4 to a category 3 hurricane.
Hot and dry weather continues and that means corn
and soybeans were higher.
Lumber was limit up.
Gold rallied after making a 6-week low.
