Major M&A Activity Jump Starts The Week
The U.S. stock markets rallied
throughout the day as significant merger-and-acquisition news has
generated strong positive sentiment. The M&A activity
covered several sectors ranging from stock exchanges to utilities.Â
Crude futures fell 0.7% to
$56.72 per barrel.Â
Gold futures are also trading up through the morning. Gold
futures close fractionally higher to $654.30 an ounce.
Around Europe, the U.K.’s
FTSE 100 index rose 0.96% to 6,189.40, while France’s CAC 40 index
climbed 1.43% to 5,458.95 and Germany’s DAX index surged up 1.39%
to 6,671.41.
