Not A Complete Surprise

Choppy,
that would be one way to describe
yesterday’s
session. Nonetheless, there were opportunities, albeit fewer than what we have
experienced in recent sessions. The massive moves of the last week will take
time to digest, so a “slow” period will not be a complete surprise.

Contrary to what many are bantering
about on the airwaves, I seriously doubt that this is a bottom. Sure, we could
rally from here, in fact, a substantial rally is possible, but in my opinion, we
will test the lows set last week again, and probably go a bit lower. History
shows that bear market rallies are very ferocious, and do offer wonderful
trading opportunities, HVT and Swing Trades,
but can be detrimental to a long-term portfolio. Time will tell.

Gold shares perked up yesterday, and
while it was not terribly convincing, they did it in the face of a somewhat
strong market. This sector is definitely on my watch list. Remember, the market
has a funny way of rotating into the least obvious sectors, recognize this
before everyone else does to achieve maximum returns.

I trust most of you were paying close
attention to the KTNs on the S&P futures
yesterday, if you were, they offered you a lay-up trade, which turned out to be
one hell of a move. The move off 897, around 12:30 EST (5 min chart) offered.
