Only A Few Stocks

Each evening we focus on the most interesting aspects for the upcoming trading day. The comments are based on observations of the nightly updates of the Stocks/Sectors and Market Bias pages. They are provided for educational purposes only and are not intended to be direct trading advice. Also, keep in mind that these remarks are made up to 12 hours in advance of the markets opening. Therefore, overnight events may alter the outcome of these observations.

At the time this is being published, the S&P Globex Futures are trading .40 points lower and the bond market is trading up 1 tick.

Tomorrow, we will likely experience thin pre-holiday trading. Therefore, use caution as lack of liquidity is the short-term trader’s worse enemy. In light of this, there are only a few stocks that look interesting to me tonight.

Advanced Micro Devices [AMD>AMD], mentioned last night, still looks poised to rally out of a pennant formation.

Interleaf [LEAF>LEAF], mentioned last night, still looks interesting to me.

Filenet [FILE>FILE], on the Pullbacks List, is a pattern I call a Trend Pivot Pullback (see archive from last night for a detailed description of the pattern). Metricom [MCOM>MCOM], also on the Pullbacks off Highs List, looks poised to rally out of a flag formation. Just wait for it to prove itself by taking out the prior 1-3 bar highs as it did close poorly today.

Best of luck with your trading on Wednesday!

PS – Reminder: Protective stops on every trade!
