Stocks End Slightly Higher
The major indices closed fractionally higher after a missed
earnings report from Best Buy and a drop in new home construction
for May. The Dow and S&P gained nearly 0.2%, while the Nasdaq
closed flat.
Crude oil futures for July delivery rose
fractionally to $69.13 a barrel. Gold futures for August delivery
closed higher by 0.7% to $664.70 an ounce.Â
Around Europe, Germany’s DAX Index closed flat at 8,033.52,
France’s CAC 40 Index fell 0.25% to 6,071.67, and Britain’s FTSE
100 lost 0.8% to 6,650.20.
