Stocks Extend Multi-Year Highs
The NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX, CME and CBOT
closed early, while the NYBOT and NYMEX were closed today.
Stocks closed modestly higher in very light post holiday
trading. With all the major exchanges either closed or closing early most
traders chose to take a 4-day holiday weekend. Institutional activity was light
and volumes failed to hit even the usual mid-day levels by the close of today’s
session.
Today was “Black Friday” for the retailers. All the major
stores opened early, offering discounts to kickoff the holiday season.
