Stocks Lack Direction; Schnitzer Steel Jumps 16% on Earnings
The major indices fluctuated around the flatline this morning.
Investors are cautious ahead of second earnings, which will be led
by Alcoa today after the close.
Crude oil futures for August delivery fell 1.1%
to $72.01 per barrel. Gold
futures for August delivery added 1.3% to $663.50 an ounce.
Around Asia, Shanghai’s Composite index rose 2.7% to 3,883.22,
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 1.3% to 22,817.43, and Tokyo’s Nikkei
gained 0.7% to 18,261.98.
