This Week’s Battle Plan
Lessons For A
Spring Sunday
Today’s piece is short on words but long on ideas.
Finding The Best Companies To Trade
As you may know, there are more than 25,000 pages of trading
information on this site. The information covers nearly all aspects of
trading. Today, I’d like to make you aware of a small handful articles
which I recommend reading. They are written by Mark Boucher, Kevin
Haggerty, Kevin Marder and Dave Landry, and they will give you
insights from four money managers and how they go about finding the
correct stocks to trade on a daily basis.
Kevin Haggerty’s
Lesson
Kevin’s lesson “Trade
Selection Using Four New TradingMarkets.com Screens” will
teach you how to use his proprietary screens and lists that are
provided on the site each morning before the opening. These screens
and lists are his S&P
500 Index Screen, NDX
100 Index Screen, 3
Day Wake Up Call and his Change
in Direction. Each get into the guts of the market place and help
identify what stocks the institutions (“The Generals”) are
moving money into and out of each day. If you want to know what the
Generals are buying and selling, this is a good place to do your
homework.
Kevin Marder’s Lesson
For those of you who do not know Kevin Marder, he was TM’s
Editor-in-Chief for a few years before going off to start his own
money management firm. Kevin is an intermediate-term trader and is a
student of the Wm. O’Neill style of trading. His lesson “How
To Use The TradingMarkets ‘Stocks Building A Base’ Screen”
will teach you what he looks for in stocks that are building bases. If
in fact this rally is real (and it sure feels real), many stocks will
be rallying out the bases they have formed and Kevin’s article will
give you insight into this pattern.
Dave Landry’s Lesson
Dave Landry wrote a 4-part lesson, “Scanning
For Profits Series,” which looks at a multitude of ways to
use the TradingMarkets
Stock Scanner to help you filter for the better names to be in
each day. Here, you will be able to learn many different variations
and methods on how to use RS and other momentum filters in order to be
in stocks that have fuel behind them both to the upside and to the
downside.
Mark Boucher’s Lesson
And speaking of RS and fuel, Mark Boucher wrote a short but effective
article on using his nightly
lists in order to pinpoint the stocks that have both fundamentals
and technical behind them. His lesson “Using RS Lists to
Aggressively Trade on Long and Short Sides” can be found here.
There’s a lot of information here. Take your time going through these
articles, and most importantly, learn how to apply this knowledge.
Having the information is great, but correctly using it is how you
profit from it. And, if you have any questions on these articles, send
them to me and I’ll get them answered for you.
Richard Machowicz
Our most popular Big Saturday Interview to date has been with
10-Year Navy Seal Veteran Richard Machowicz. Because of the response
to the interview, we’ve arranged to have Richard conduct a full-day
session via the internet on May 17. I’ve worked with Richard for the
past one and a half years and can attest to the power of his work (as
can many successful people in the business world, entertainment
industry, and in professional sports). Richard’s seminar will focus in
on reaching extreme goals, overcoming fear in order to hit your
targets, and using the techniques of combat and applying them to
trading and all other aspects of your life. Plus, Richard will be
providing you with an intense 30-day plan in which you will follow-up
directly with him. If you would like to attend this seminar (as with
the other online seminars we have done, space is limited and will be
on a first come-first serve basis), you can find more information here.
Big Saturday Interviews
We have some pretty exciting and enjoyable Big Saturday Interviews
lined up for the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for them. We run
them 2-3 times a month and the next one will run next Saturday.
Finale
I hope you enjoy and profit from the lessons mentioned above. Even
though I have previously read all of them, I got something out of each
when I read them again this past week and I hope you do too.
Have a great week trading!
