TradingMarkets 7 Stocks You Need to Know for Friday: EK, AMZN, SFD, AMD, LOW, AKAM, CIEN

While most of the stock market was relatively quiet, financials such as ^WFC^ continue to gain. The stock was up more than 2% on Thursday, closing higher for a second straight session. Overbought below the 200-day and up more than 5% on the day was ^BAC^.

Profit-taking in retail continued for ^AEO^^. Shares of AEO pulled back by more than 3% on Thursday, again nearing its 200-day moving average.

Here are 7 Stocks You Need to Know for Friday.

Shares of ^EK^ soared by more than 11% in Thursday’s trading. The rally took the stock back above its 200-day moving average after trading below that level since early June.

^AMZN^ (below) closed lower for a third day in a row ahead of trading on Friday.

At its most oversold since mid-November, shares of AMZN dropped just shy of 1% on Thursday.

Also up big on Thursday were shares of ^SFD^. The stock gained more than 11% as it broke out above a trading range that had lasted for more than a week.

Pulling back by more than 2% on Thursday, just days after crossing back above its 200-day moving average, was ^AMD^ (below).

Shares of AMD moved back above their 200-day moving average at the beginning of the week. AMD most recently attempted a sustained move above its 200-day back in early November.

Profit-taking in ^LOW^ took the stock down by more than 1% on Thursday. It was the stock’s first significant pullback since climbing back above its 200-day moving average at the beginning of December.

Down nearly 3% on Thursday were shares of ^AKAM^ (below).

Thursday marked the second consecutive lower close for AKAM. The stock pulled back to its most oversold levels since mid-November.

Up by more than 15% on Thursday and overbought above the 200-day moving average is ^CIEN^. The company beat revenue expectations on Thursday, although per share earnings fell short.
