The U.S. stock markets have come under
pressure in morning trading on Monday, with the major averages all moving into
negative territory after turning in a mixed performance in the previous session.
The Nasdaq has shown a notable decline and is underperforming the Dow and the
S&P 500.

After showing a strong upward move in the
previous session, the price of oil is seeing some further upside in morning
trading. Crude for February delivery is currently up $1.33 at $53.32 a barrel
after ending Friday’s trading up $1.51 a barrel.
The price of gold has turned higher over
the course of morning trading on Monday. Gold for February delivery is currently
up $2.50 at $638.90 an ounce after hitting a low of $633.20 an ounce.
