TradingMarkets Mid-Day Movers
U.S. stocks move higher despite
economic data pointing to slowing economic growth and rising
inflation. Today’s PPI report came in at 1.3% vs. the expected
increase of 0.5%.Â
Crude for April delivery is
trading fractionally higher by
0.2% to $58.27 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.Â
OPEC ministers met today in Vienna and agreed to maintain current
production targets. Gold futures
moved higher by 1% to $649.00 an
ounce.
Asian markets moved higher as
bargain hunters stepped in after Tuesday’s sharp declines.Â
Gains were made across the board with the Shanghai Composite, Hang
Seng, and Nikkei all up over 1%.
