Tuesday’s Stock Watch
The markets
took to the upside today as positive earnings from Dow components and
a better than expected housing starts number seemed to inspire the bulls. Volume
came in slightly below average as the semiconductors and technology led the
action. Using last Wednesday as a potential bottoming point, we are looking for
the market to follow through on the rally within the next seven trading days.
Ideally we want to see this happen on less than optimistic news. Stocks on our
watch list were mixed, with one new addition.
Market breadth was positive, with NYSE
advancing issues over declining issues by a ratio of 1.63, and up volume over
down volume by a 2.70 ratio. Nasdaq advancing issues over declining issues came
in at 1.17, and up volume beat down volume by a 3.90 ratio.
