Wednesday’s Stock Watch
The markets were hit with
selling pressure again, as below-average volume qualified for
distribution across the exchanges. Gold and silver was the biggest gainer of the
day, with utilities, banks, and healthcare providers comprising the rest of the
upside action. Leading to the downside were computer hardware, Internet,
software, biotechnology, and semiconductors. The new 52-week lows and highs
lists were relatively quiet, with on only the banking sector collecting more
than 10 highs. Stocks on our watch list were all down, with key distribution
made.
Market breadth was negative, with NYSE
declining issues over advancing issues by a ratio of 1.78, and down volume over
up volume by a 2.27 ratio. Nasdaq declining issues over advancing issues came in
at 1.76, and down volume beat up volume by a 5.29 ratio.

pulling back now. The good news here is that it’s on light volume.

report released yesterday. Today’s price action erases all the gains it made
since breaking out a couple of weeks ago.
