Wednesday’s Stock Watch
Sellers
dominated the day’s action, with the Nasdaq making its fourth day of
distribution in ten trading sessions. Computer hardware and
semiconductors led the charge down, stuffing the Naz below its 200-day moving
average. Health care and pharmaceutical stocks were the day’s strength, with
modest gains on the day. Stocks on our watch lists were mixed, with some
significant distribution occurring.
Market breadth was negative, with
NYSE declining issues over advancing issues by a ratio of 1.28, and down volume
over up volume by a 1.67 ratio. Nasdaq declining issues over advancing issues
came in at 1.73, and down volume beat up volume by a 3.47 ratio.
