Changes Coming for the Dow
The Dow Jones Industrial Average will be adding Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS), Visa Inc (V), and Nike Inc (NKE).
These 3 stocks will be replacing Bank of America Corp (BAC), Hewlett-Packard Co (HPQ), and Alcoa Inc, (AA).
The changes will be effective on September 23, 2013, the S&P Dow Jones Indices said in a statement.
The average 200 MA of the three new stocks is $125.00 versus $14.00 for the 3 exiting. The Dow 30 is a price-weighted index, thus the exiting stocks exerted a lesser pull than will the 3 new additions.
