Crude Oil Closes Above $75
Without any economic
news to drive the bond market, treasuries closed the week with modest
gains. The yield on the 10yr T-note ended the week at 5.012%.
The US Dollar Index fell on Friday, closing near the lows of the week. The
Dollar dropped significantly against all the majors this week, with today’s
losses versus the Yen exacerbating the decline.
Crude Oil futures close above $75
for the first time
June Crude Oil futures closed at $75.19 after
surging more than 2% today. Unleaded Gas and Heating Oil closed higher but
Natural Gas moved in the opposite direction.
Copper futures close at new record
high
Copper and Zinc futures closed at record highs after declining
with all the other metals yesterday.
June Gold regained almost all of yesterday’s losses but Silver was only able to
recover partially, after starting the day much weaker.
