Lucent Calls Rise; Stocks Rest
Stocks took a breather Friday following a week of big gains that put all
three major averages above their respective 50-day moving averages. Oils
services were the day’s top sector while Internets were the weakest.
At the close, the VIX was up .55 to 29.01.
