TradingMarkets Mid-Day Movers
With many traders away from their desks
ahead of the long weekend, the U.S. stock markets are turning in a lackluster
performance in morning trading on Friday. The major averages have had difficulty
sustaining any significant moves.

PowerRating) is leading the S&P today after reporting that an
internal probe found no evidence of company executives mishandling options
grants. AAPL is currently trading up over 5% this morning.
After trending higher in recent sessions,
the price of gold is giving back some ground in morning
trading on Friday. Nonetheless, selling pressure has remained subdued, with
gold for February delivery currently down only $0.30 at $636.60 an ounce.
After seeing some strength in the previous
sessions, the price of oil has moved back to the downside in morning
trading on Friday. Crude for February delivery is currently down $0.28 at
$60.25 a barrel after ending Thursday’s trading up $0.19 a barrel.
 Earlier in the session, the price of
oil fell to a one-month intraday low below $60 a barrel.

Telecommunications, and Metals/Mining sectors showing the most weakness.Â
