Dow Rises Nearly 200 Points
The major indices roared higher today after
bond yields eased and economic data came in stronger than
expected. The Dow gained nearly 200 points in Wednesday’s session.
Crude oil futures for July delivery rose 1.2%
to $66.15 per barrel. Gold futures for August delivery closed with
fractional losses to $652.70 an ounce.Â
Around Europe, Germany’s DAX Index made fractional gains to close
at 7,680.76, France’s CAC 40 Index added 0.6% to 5,934.27, and
Britain’s FTSE 100 Index rose 0.6% to 6,559.60.
