The ABC Consumer Comfort Index measures consumer confidence within the current economy, giving us some sense of future spending habits.
Trader Take:
Consumer confidence over the past year has steadily been weakening as the U.S. economy slows. The reading for the past report was -45 and has been steadily down trending over the past year. Now, Wall Street will be looking for some type of turn around in the confidence numbers, especially with recent gains in the U.S. dollar and the issuance of tax rebate checks.
