Brocade Calls Slip; Stocks Pause

Stocks took a break Thursday from recent gains as traders look ahead to the the closely watched employment
report that is due out Friday. Oil services were the day’s top sector, while
biotechs were the weakest.

At the close, the VIX was up 1.73 to 29.50.
