Clock strikes midnight!
A phenomenal run of
cards and experiences ended yesterday, in day two at the Five Diamond
World Poker Classic. Following a great run on day one which had me in 54th place
out of the 555 people that started, the cards started going against me and the
chips started vacating my stack in a pretty fast manner. I spent most of day two
dodging land mines that the poker gods decided to put out there beginning early
in the day.
The first situation was when I had about 65,000
chips in front of me and the chip leader at the table with about $150,000 in
chips decides to raise to 4,000 with the blinds at 300-600. I look down at
pocket 10’s and know that they are good so I come over the top for 15,000. He
reaches for his chips and calls quickly and just by his body language I put him
on something like k-10, or maybe some kind of suited connectors b/c he had been
making a lot of loose calls up to that point and appeared to be more than
willing to gamble.
