Crude Oil Futures End The Week Above $71

In today’s economic news,
Personal Income and Spending increased in
April
(report).

Treasuries closed the week with a small gain after inching higher on Friday. The
yield on the 10-yr T-note was 5.052%.

The US Dollar Index posted a solid gain, with the Dollar strong against all the
majors except for the CAD.

Gold closed slightly higher for the day but lower on the week. June Gold futures
ended the week at $652.20.

The energies were mixed, with Natural Gas +2.06 and Unleaded Gas +1.05% leading
the advance. Heating Oil -0.46% and Crude Oil -0.05% closed slightly lower. June
Crude Oil futures ended the week at $71.32.

All the softs except for Cotton +1.76% closed
lower.

Wheat +1.47% was the best performer among the grains.
