ETF Options Trading and Four New Short Country ETFs

Two items of interest to your trading this morning.

1. I came across the following article this weekend that talked about the growth in the ETF options markets. It appears that ETFs will soon make up the majority of options traded in this country which is good news to anyone who is already trading ETF options or is thinking about using them. We’ve all seen the liquidity come into ETFs over the past year or so; it’s also moved into the options.

This article will give you an idea of the landscape. https://seekingalpha.com/article/144013-next-stop-etf-options-trading

2. Last week the ProShares launched four new international ETFs

BZQ is especially of interest as we’ve traded EWZ a handful of times and now we have a short vehicle to complement the long ETF. Please note that these are 2x ETFs on the short side which means that if there is a short signal in EWZ, you’ll want to go long 1/2 the dollar amount on BZQ in order to have an equal position.
