Juniper Calls Fall; Nasdaq Tanks
A rash of technology downgrades continues to weigh on stocks Monday as
worries over the election outcome are also on traders’ minds. Gold and silver is
the day’s top sector while biotechs are the weakest.
At mid-day, the VIX is up w.46 to 30.31.
The OEX December 740 calls are down 3 1/2 to 9 1/4.
Among bigger movers on heavier-than-average volume:
PowerRating) is down 28 3/8 to 126 following a downgrade from
Morgan Stanley. The Juniper December 195 calls are down 4 3/8 to 3 1/8 on more
than 3200 contracts.
PowerRating) is another golden tech under pressure of late and is
down 3 3/4 to 110 7/16. The PMCS December 115 puts are up 5 to 19 1/4 on more
than 8000 contracts.
One of the day’s big winners is Gatorade maker Quaker Oats
is up 7 11/16 to 98 on word of a potential buyout by Coca-Cola. The OAT December
100 calls are up 2 13/16 to 3 1/2 on heavier-than-average volume.
