PowerRating) is due to report Q2 results in the after-hours session tonight, and analysts polled by Thomson First Call are expecting a profit of $0.16 per share on revenue of $170 million.
VCLK has mostly narrowed its extended-hours share moves in the following regular session after an earnings event. It has done so in the last 12 of 16 quarters. Near term, the performance favors narrowing as well, with the stock cutting back its evening move in the next day’s session in three of the last four quarters, the exception being the most recent period.
On May 6, 2008, VCLK fell 2.3% after beating with Q1 results but offering mixed guidance. The stock dropped 6.8% the next day.
On Feb. 13, 2008, VCLK advanced 5.6% in evening trade after beating Q4 revenue expectations but also offering mixed guidance. It lost a good portion of its gain the next day, ending with a 2.6% advance.
On Nov. 1, 2007, VCLK was up 1.6% in night trade after beating on earnings, meeting revenue expectations, and setting mixed guidance. The stock slipped into the red the next day, losing 0.5% by the closing bell on Nov. 2.
On July 30, 2007, VCLK tumbled 21.6% in the pre-market session after missing Q2 estimates and forecasting FY sales to be below Street views. Shares recovered slightly in the regular session, ending down 19.2%.
On May 2, 2007, VCLK declined 1.9% in after-hours trade after reporting improved year-over year results but also offering mixed guidance. The stock headed further south the following day, losing 7.5% by the May 3 regular session close.
On Feb. 21, 2007, the stock jumped 12% in the evening hours after the company reported better-than-expected Q4 results. The gain was a slightly slimmer 10% the next day.
On November 1, 2006, VCLK gained 1.7% in night trade after beating Q3 estimates and guiding higher. The shares soared the next day, closing the regular session up 14.2%.
On Aug. 1, 2006, the stock was up 13.4% in the evening session after the company reported ahead in Q2 and guided higher for Q3. The stock gained 23.3% the next day.
On May 8, 2006, shares squeezed out a gain of 0.4% after the company reported ahead of the Street with revenue and sets a share buyback. The stock fell 3.5% the next day.
On February 27, 2006, VCLK dropped 6% in night trade after beating Q4 expectations but forecasting Q1 sales to be below Street views. The shares trimmed their losses the next day, ending the regular session down 5.6%.
On November 1, 2005, VCLK slipped 2% in after-hours trade when the company beat Q3 expectations but predicted Q4 earnings to be below Street estimates. The shares, though, regained their composure the next day, ending the regular session up 4.3%.
VCLK gained 3% on August 4, 2005, after topping the Street EPS target by 2 cents and raising FY05 guidance. It narrowed its upside in the August 5 regular session, gaining only 1.3%.
On May 4, 2005, VCLK edged up 0.4% after topping Q1 estimates and guiding Q2 sales above the Street. It reversed that slight gain and fell 10.5% in the May 5 regular session.
On Feb. 17, 2005, VCLK gained 5.8% after besting the Q4 Street view and raising FY05 guidance. It erased that gain and sank 0.5% in the Feb. 18 regular session.
On Nov. 4, 2004, VCLK surged 20.3% after topping Q3 estimates and guiding higher. Gains fell back slightly in the Nov. 5 regular session, when it closed up 14%.
On August 3, 2004, VCLK plunged 21.4% after hours after missing on revenue and guiding FY sales below the street. It widened its loss in the Aug. 4 regular session, closing down 26.8%.
