Rally In Energies

What a difference a day can make. Last night, I was suggesting to avoid the energies as it was impossible to tell whether it was a shake out move or the start of something larger. Well, today, October Crude[CLV9>CLV9], Heating Oil [HOV9>HOV9] and Unleaded Gas [HUV9>HUV9] all rallied nicely to all but erase yesterday’s losses. It now appears that the bullish uptrends remain intact and that this was only a corrective move. Look for buying opportunities here.

For you breakout players, October Feeder Cattle [FCV9>FCV9], on the Momentum 5 List, broke out above a wide-and-loose base today. Look for a buying opportunity here.

December Cotton [CTZ9>CTZ9], on the Turtle Soup Plus One Buy List, hit new 20 day lows today but reversed to close well. This may have shorts trapped on the wrong side of the market. Look for a buying opportunity here.

Volatility Watch

December Coffee [KCZ9>KCZ9] remains on the Volatility Explosions — Multiple Days List. Continue to look for a larger-than-normal move (in either direction) as volatility reverts to its mean.

November Orange Juice [OJX9>OJX9] is now on the Volatility Explosions — Multiple Days List. Because the underlying trend remains strong, it looks like it has the potential to break higher break higher as volatility reverts to its mean. Continue to look for a buying opportunity here.

Best of luck with your trading on Friday!
