Stocks Rise As Crude Falls
Stocks rose modestly
on Wednesday, led by the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Treasury yields climbed,
reflecting traders perceptions that the Fed will have to raise interest rates at
least twice more.
In today’s economic news the Commerce Department reported that the Trade Deficit
narrowed to $65.7 Bln in February
(report).
The Energy Department’s EIA reported that Crude Oil inventories rose in the
latest week, while Gasoline inventories fell
(report).
Crude Oil futures hit a seven month high early in the session before closing
lower following the release of the EIA report.
The US Dollar rose, boosted by the trade deficit data.
