Adding to the bullish sentiment are falling crude prices, closing lower by
1.2% to $60.34 bbl.

The price of gold extended a recent upward
move on Wednesday, with gold for February delivery closing up $3.40 at $630.30
an ounce. With the increase, the price of gold added to the gains that it posted
in the two previous sessions.
