Trading and the Comeback Mindset: A Conversation with Don Miller, Part 1
Readers of TradingMarkets over the past few years will likely remember Don Miller as one of our more interesting and provocative writers. A member of the CME and an independent intraday futures trader, Don Miller provided not only cogent analysis of the S&P 500 and Nasdaq. He also wrote and provided multimedia presentations about such common trading topics as trading in different timeframes, “the truth about drawdowns”, as well as how traders can best analyze their performance.
How is Don Miller doing this year? His private capital fund of more than $1.5 million is up more than 200% through the end of November – making him the kind of trader we think our readers will enjoy hearing from and learning more about. His primary trading vehicle is the E-mini S&P, though he also trades the DAX, as well. Don Miller also maintains a daily trading journal online at donmillerjournal.blogspot.com, which focuses specifically on his trading during these volatile times.
TradingMarkets Editor David Penn talked with Don Miller in November 2008, the day before Thanksgiving, by telephone. The wide-ranging and extensive interview will be published in two parts, with the first part available this weekend and Part 2 coming next weekend.
