TradingMarkets Mid-Day Movers

Stocks started the session posting
modest gains and have held onto them for the morning session.
The
Nasdaq continues to show good relative strength but the best action remains in
the commodity markets. The metals have been especially strong, Gold neared an
18-year high yesterday, Copper hit another all-time high, Platinum hit a 26-year
high and Silver has been trending higher. A number of our commentators

Economic
News

Initial Jobless Claims fell 25,000
to 303,000 (report),
New Housing Starts declined 5.6% in October to an annual rate of 2.014 Mln.
units (report)
and Industrial Production rose 0.9% in October (report).
The November Philly Fed Index was just released, it showed a decline to 11.5
from 17.3 in October.

The EIA reported that Natural Gas Inventories
were up 53 Bln. cubic feet.

The US Dollar Index is slightly lower, Treasuries are higher
and Energy prices are mixed with Heating Oil and Unleaded Gasoline posting
slight gains while Crude Oil and Natural Gas are lower.
