TradingMarkets Mid-Day Movers
Earlier this week TradingMarkets.com published new
research on what the month of December is likely to have in store for the
stock market. Our research, titled “Will
December Be Up Or Down?” showed some interesting results when comparing
all Decembers with those that have followed a market that is up after the first
11-months (as it is this year).
The major averages are trading
flat/slightly lower today after yesterday’s disappointing late afternoon
selloff. The Energy Department Weekly Petroleum Status report gave
stocks a brief boost but they have since declined.
The EIA reported that Crude Oil Inventories were up 2.7 Mln
barrels and that Gasoline Inventories were also up 2.7 Mln barrels last week (report).
Mortgage Bankers Association reported that
mortgage loan applications rose last week (report).

Energy prices are mixed following today’s report
with Crude Oil and Natural Gas both heading higher. Crude Oil is trading above
$60 once again.
Treasuries are trading slightly lower, while the
US Dollar Index is trading higher.
