TradingMarkets Mid-Day Movers
The major U.S. indices are trading lower this
morning on inflation remarks from Fed Chairman Bernanke. The
Dow is currently off 0.8%, while the Nasdaq and S&P 500 are each
lower by 0.7%.
May Crude futures are up on
continued Middle East tensions. Crude is currently trading
up 2.2% to $64.33 per barrel. Gold futures
are also higher this morning up 0.7% to $673.50 an ounce.
Asian indices closed mostly
lower as worries about U.S. economic growth spread. Tokyo’s
Nikkei lost 0.6% to 17,254.73 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 0.8%
to 19,553.87. Shanghai’s Composite went against the trend
adding 1.1% to close at 3,173.02.
