Will Chips Be In The Chips In 2001?
Well, thus far, it looks like 2000 is going out as it spent much of the
year, giving ground. That doesn’t play out very well for last year’s Super
Bowl champs, the St. Louis Rams, and it certainly hasn’t played out for the
stock market either.
However, the continued weakness in the tech sector has created some real
trading and investing opportunities. Just as the bubble earlier this year
produced unusually good opportunities to position yourself on the short side
of the market, the techs limping into the end of the year has created some
bullish opportunities for 2001.
Whether you see those opportunities in MP3 players, cell phones with REAL
INTERNET ACCESS and handheld devices like the Palm or Handspring, the chip
companies should be in the chips in 2001.

the year is hardly the most liquid time to be establishing positions, so
we’ll be talking about which strategies offer the best risk vs. reward in
the first weeks of 2001.
